Adventures With Winston: Part 2 by Lauryn and Haylynn Harris

Wednesday, July 18
Day 1
We landed another dog sitting job! Same place, same dog. This time we are not strangers; we are more like friends. Winston does not bark as much as the last time. I think he remembers us. We have lots of big plans for Winston on this next adventure. 

At 9:00 a.m. my sister and I were anxious to go see Winston. We went sprinting over to Kathy's. When we got inside, Winston was jumping on us. I could tell he was very excited to see us again. Kathy showed us her back yard. She has LOTS of flowers, and we were in charge of watering them. After the meeting,  Kathy said we could come over at about 5:30 p.m. We could not wait!

We finished building our camp fire pit and invited Winston over to our campfire. We tied him up by our swing set. We gave him water, and we sat by him. Winston was licking us. Then after the camp fire, we took Winston home. We turned on a light in the house so Winston would not be scared. We will have lots more fun tomorrow!



Thursday, July 19
Day 2
We were excited to go back to Kathy's house. In the morning, right away, we took Winston outside so he could go potty. After that we went inside to feed Winston, but he did not eat. Lauryn and I played with him a long time. We played America's Got Talent. Lauryn did an act with Winston, and I was the judge. We tried to train him. Then we all watered the plants. Winston got all wet. Lauryn dried Winston with a towel. 

Later in the day, I was checking the time because we had to feed Winston dinner. Right before dinner, we took him on a walk. He went poop, so Lauryn had to pick it up. I never pick it up! Winston ate dinner, and we went home. A little bit later we went to take him out to go potty. My mom said, "Bring him over so he can watch Big Brother with us." There is a character named Winston on the show. He got voted out tonight. He got voted out, but our Winston did not get kicked out of the house.

Friday, July 20
Day 3
Rain. rain. rain. rain. It was a soggy day. The rain took care of all Kathy's plants except the ones on the patio, so we watered the ones on the patio. Winston did not eat his breakfast, but he did eat his three treats fast! We went on our morning walk around the block. We usually give him three walks every day. My sister and I take him over to my mom once and awhile. He loves my mom. Winston SPRINTS OVER THE YARD TO GET TO HER! I think Winston thinks my mom is Kathy. 

We played a game with Winston. We hid his toy, and he tried to find it! It was SO CUTE. When he did find it, we would clap and give him a hug! Hopefully, it is a sunny day tomorrow so then we can play outside all day!



Saturday, July 21
Day 4
We started the day out by feeding Winston. Winston had to go potty bad, so we took him out to go. We played with him a little bit. He was worn out from us, we thought. We mostly played with him the whole day! We were almost worn out!:) He mostly played with his toys. He sure does love Cocoa, his little stuffed dog. He plays tug of war with him. Later in the day we fed him dinner. He did not eat, but we still went for a walk with him. Today, we had a fun day.

Sunday, July 22
Day 5
We woke up bright and early to go to Winston. When we got there, we fed him two scoops of dog food. Then we went outside and took him on his walk down by the church. When we got back home, we played with him for a little bit before we had to go. After that, we had to go to our grandma and grandpa's house. We went to go tell Buffy(the neighbor) that we were going to our grandma's house. We asked her if she would take care of Winston for the day. We told her that we would be back by 6:00 p.m.

Monday, July 23
Day 6
Today is our last full day with him, because Kathy comes home tomorrow. We went on a walk. He went poop. Lauryn always picks the poop up. Then we fed him breakfast. Winston was starving. He licked and licked his bowl. Then, we went to go to eat our breakfast at the school. We went to go play outside on the bars on the swing set at Kathy's. Winston was tied up outside by the swingset. 

Later our mom said,"Time to go to Marshfield." I didn't really want to go. I did not want to leave poor Winston alone. We weren't gone to Marshfield too long though. 

After Marshfield, we got Winston. We ran to our house and played on the swing. He was pretty worn out, so we fed him dinner. He was hungry. Then, we took Winston outside to go potty. Later, we went to the Red Arrow Park and went on the merry go round...even Winston! This last full day with Winston was perfect! :)

Tuesday, July 24

Day 7

The last day with Winston. Well, this week went very fast. The first thing we did today was take him on a long walk because it was our last day. Then, we went back to Kathy's house so we could feed him. We fed him two scoops of food. My mom and sister and I had to make a quick trip to Medford. We got ice cream on the way back to Winston! 

My sister and I wanted to play basketball when we got back. We took Winston with us. I put the basketball in his "hands." He threw the ball! We played at the hoops near the park. We went to Kathy's house when we were done. We played there for a little bit and then...We saw Kathy's car coming. They were home from their trip! Winston WAS GOING CRAZY RUNNING BACK AND FORTH TRYING TO GET TO KATHY. He was trying to get out the door! 

 We will miss Winston. Until next time...
